Silk lamination on both sides gives a smooth matte face that resists scuffing through a bag, a mailer, and a boardroom table. It is the default premium base and the best surface for foil and spot UV.
Suede lamination adds a soft-touch, velvet surface you notice before the folder is even opened. Same 16pt weight, same two pockets, a warmer and quieter finish.

The standard folder holds letter-size documents in two pockets and takes a business card in the die-cut slits. If your insert is an odd size, or the folder has to hold a sample, a device, or a swatch book, we build the die to fit. Standard size is priced on this page. Custom sizes and dies are quoted.
19.5" x 15.75" flat, folding down to hold letter-size documents. Two pockets and die-cut business card slits included.
Choose this size →A folder built around what goes inside it: legal inserts, sample swatches, a lookbook, or a product that needs its own well.
Request a size →The whole SilkCards finish library applies here — same process, same craft. Add only the finishes that fit the piece; we confirm compatibility with your stock and size before production.

Foil, spot-UV, emboss, and deboss. The same premium finishes as our business cards, at full folder size.
“I cannot thank this company enough! My business cards are absolutely fabulous and I have received so many compliments on them. The pictures will not do them justice. I got the suede finish, 48 pt thick cards with silver foil on one side and the edges. They are so luxurious.”
See the finishes on screen. Confirm the decision in your hand. Your free sample kit lets you feel foil, spot-UV, silk, and soft-touch suede on premium stock, and see how the colors really print, before you commit to a run of folders.
A folder is not a flat page. Our custom design service lays your artwork onto the die so the front, the spine, the pockets, and the back all line up when it folds, with correct bleed and any foil or spot UV set to register where it should. Already have print-ready artwork on our die line? Upload it and skip the design charge.
Before anyone reads a proposal, they hold the thing it came in. A flimsy folder quietly says the contents are disposable. A heavy, finished one says the opposite, and it says it in the two seconds before a word is read.
The folder is the packaging for your pitch. What it feels like in the hand shapes what someone expects the work inside to cost.
Two pockets hold the documents, and die-cut slits hold your business card so the folder arrives as one complete piece rather than a stack of loose paper.
Laminated on both sides, tear and water resistant, and heavy enough to come out of a bag at the other end still looking like it did leaving your office.
The same craft as our business cards: 38 foil colors, spot UV, emboss and deboss. Same process, considerably more surface to work with.
Every SilkCards folder is 16pt, laminated on both sides. The choice is not how thick it is; it is what your hand registers when you pick it up. Silk 16pt is smooth, matte, and the more scratch-resistant of the two, which matters on a piece that gets slid in and out of bags. Suede 16pt is a soft-touch velvet surface people notice before the folder is even opened.
Smooth, matte, low-glare, and more scratch resistant. The default premium base, and the surface spot UV needs to work against.
Warm, matte, velvet to the touch. The finish that gets remarked on in the room, and a strong base for foil and emboss.
Prefer high shine? Gloss UV lamination is available as an alternative surface, confirmed with your build.
A folder gives you the largest surface we print. That is the opportunity: the same finishes that read as premium on a business card read as serious investment at this size.
Any foil in the range, from classic metallics to holographic and patterned finishes. At folder size, foil is what people notice first.
See in a sample →High-gloss detail over the matte face, on the cover alone or on both sides. Available on silk lamination.
See in a sample →Raised or pressed relief on the front, the back, or both. Dimension without ink, and unmistakably deliberate.
See in a sample →Matte and scratch resistant, soft-touch velvet, or high shine. The surface sets the tone before anything else does.
See in a sample →Every use rewards a different stock and finish. We help match the two to who is receiving it and what they are deciding.
The folder your proposal arrives in, built so the price inside reads as reasonable rather than as a surprise.
02Suede and a debossed mark, for documents where restraint signals more than decoration would.
03Listing packets and development brochures that hold plans, specs, and your card in one piece.
04The first thing a new client or hire is handed, and the one they keep on the desk rather than filing.
05Everything a journalist or buyer needs in one place, finished well enough that it does not go straight in the bin.
06Delegate packs and sponsor kits that hold their shape through a day of being carried around a venue.
A plain folder competes on price. A finished one competes on nothing, because nobody else in the process handed over anything like it. Foil and spot UV turn the cover into the first argument you make, and Suede 16pt makes that argument through touch alone.
Direct answers on sizes, stock, pockets, premium finishes, artwork, and production.
The standard folder is 19.5 inches by 15.75 inches flat (495.25mm x 400mm), which folds down to hold letter-size documents. With the required 1/8 inch bleed, the final artwork size is 19.625 inches by 15.875 inches, or 5,850 x 4,725 pixels at 300 DPI. Custom sizes are available and quoted on request.
Two stocks are offered, both 16pt and both laminated on both sides: Silk 16pt, which is smooth, matte and the more scratch resistant of the two, and Suede 16pt, which has a soft-touch velvet surface. Gloss UV lamination is available as an alternative high-shine surface, and other stocks can be quoted on request. All of them are the same premium weight; the choice is how the folder feels, not how thick it is.
Yes, and both are included in the base price. Every folder has two pockets to hold documents and die-cut slits sized for a standard business card, so your card travels with the paperwork instead of separately.
Yes. Full-color, full-bleed printing on both the outside and the inside is included. The inside is worth using: it is the surface someone looks at while they are pulling the documents out.
Yes. Foil stamping is available in any color from our full range of 38 foils, covering the classic metallics as well as holographic, patterned and specialty finishes. Spot UV can be applied to one side or both and is available on silk lamination. Embossing and debossing can be applied to the front, the back, or both. At folder size these finishes have considerably more room to work than they do on a card.
Folders start at 500 pieces, with 1,000 as the next standard tier and custom quantities available on request. Because you order directly from SilkCards, the price you see is the real price rather than a reseller markup.
Standard production time is 10 working days. That is an estimate, and premium add-ons such as foil or embossing can extend it, so tell us your deadline at order time. For files: supply print-ready artwork at 300 DPI or higher in CMYK with 1/8 inch bleed on all sides, laid out on our folder die line so the panels, spine and pockets align when it folds. We accept .AI, .EPS, .PDF, .PSD, .TIFF and .JPG, and vector files (.AI, .EPS) are always suggested for the best print quality. We print CMYK 4-color process at 200 LPI.
Yes, and we recommend starting there. A folder is not a flat rectangle: the artwork has to account for the fold, the spine, the pocket panels and the glue tabs, and a design laid out as a flat page will not land correctly once it is folded. Ask us for the die line before you start, or let our design team lay your artwork onto it for you.
Screens show color in light (RGB); print reproduces it in ink (CMYK), so some shift is normal, which is exactly why we recommend confirming before a full run. Order a free sample kit to see how our stock and finishes reproduce color, and request a proof of your artwork before production so there are no surprises. Building files in CMYK gives the most predictable result.
Select your quantity and print features first so the price reflects every add-on, then review the product details and turnaround. Add the item to your cart and upload your files, keeping each add-on on its own layer, and add any notes before checkout. Once you have an order number our team reviews the files, payment processes if the files are approved, and our proofing staff emails a finalized proof within 24 hours. Production begins after you approve the proof, and your tracking number appears in Order History when the job ships.
Choose the stock, add the finish, and see your price as you build, then order the piece your pitch deserves.
